IADC Nigeria Chapter Initiatives

Annual HSE Performance Award

The IADC Nigeria Chapter is dedicated to promoting safety, health, and environmental (HSE) excellence within the industry. Through our Annual HSE Performance Award, we aim to celebrate outstanding safety records and identify areas for continuous improvement. The award encourages companies to prioritize HSE practices, ultimately enhancing operational uptime and contributing to a safer working environment for everyone involved in drilling operations.

Technical Sessions

To foster knowledge exchange and professional growth, the IADC Nigeria Chapter organizes quarterly technical sessions. These sessions feature presentations from industry veterans and thought leaders, offering valuable insights into the latest trends, innovations, and best practices. The goal is to promote the sharing of safety protocols, operational practices, and technological advancements to help industry players avoid non-productive time (NPT) and optimize operational efficiency.

Training Gap Analysis

In 2014, the IADC Nigeria Chapter launched a comprehensive Training Gap Analysis project to assess the skills and competencies within Nigeria’s drilling sector. This initiative identifies key training needs and aims to bridge gaps, ultimately enhancing the skills of the workforce. By improving training and certification processes, we seek to elevate the overall competency level of the drilling industry, ensuring that the workforce is well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges of the sector.
